The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is extremely proud of its Child Advocacy Center (CAC). The freestanding facility on Kozloski Road is designed to care for Monmouth County children who are affected by child abuse and neglect. Our Child Advocacy Center is a child-focused facility, designed to reduce trauma experienced by child-abuse victims and their families when a child discloses sexual abuse, physical abuse, or neglect.
Our CAC provides a comfortable, private, child-friendly setting that is both physically and psychologically safe for a diverse population of children and their families. Our Child Advocacy Center’s doors first opened in 2009, with a goal towards creating a one-stop location that permits abused children and their families to receive many of the services they require under one roof. The facility underwent an expansion in 2015, with additions including a medical suite where exams could be conducted, space for art therapy, and a mental health counseling area for children and their families. In addition, office space was created for other agencies that interact with impacted children, such as the New Jersey
Division of Child Protection and Permanency, to further enhance the level of services provided.

The Child Advocacy Center is a true public/private partnership. A nonprofit corporation, The Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, raised funds to build and support the center. Additional funding was provided by the contribution of forfeiture funding from the Prosecutor’s Office and funding by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners.
