Dangerousness of DV strangulation and Why You Should See Treatment
- Possible underlying, traumatic or ‘masked’ or non-visible injuries
- Long-term physical, psychological and behavioral damage
Criteria for team activation
- Willing to be seen in the ER for an exam
- Able to consent
- Assault occurred within 5 days OR still having continued signs or symptoms from the assault
** ALL ages can be seen-this includes a reported strangulation during child abuse Forensic Nurse Examiner Program
