The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with our law enforcement partners and Board of Commissioners, periodically conducts Voluntary Weapons Surrender Programs, commonly known as “Guns for Cash.”  The program’s goal is to provide an opportunity for citizens to surrender unwanted weapons while also reducing the number of weapons in the public domain.

This program allows citizens to turn in unwanted weapons for cash payments in an anonymous and voluntary manner. Our website will be updated to include the dates of any scheduled Guns for Cash programs. During the program, individuals transporting weapons are allowed to do so without a permit to the surrender location only. Weapons must be unloaded and transported in a gun case or other sealed container. Weapons may not be transported while concealed on an individual’s person. Licensed firearms dealers are not eligible for this program. Licensed firearms dealers are not eligible to participate in our Guns for Cash programs
