FREEHOLD – An investigation into the circumstances behind a woman being found dead in Atlantic Highlands this morning is underway, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Friday.
Shortly before 7:45 a.m., members of the Atlantic Highlands Police Department responding to the area of Asbury Avenue between Navesink and Grand Avenues found the body of an adult female inside a vehicle. The woman has yet to be identified, with a cause and manner of death pending the performance of an autopsy.
Members of the Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Atlantic Highlands Police Department are jointly investigating this matter.
