FREEHOLD – Detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department are investigating a shooting which occurred in Asbury Park early Sunday morning. One male victim was injured, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
At approximately 1:11 a.m. on Sunday June 3, the Asbury Park Police Department responded to the area of 100 Langford Street after receiving a report of shots fired. Officers located 2 vehicles which had been struck by gunfire, but initially it did not appear that anyone had been struck. However, at approximately 1:36 a.m., police learned that a victim had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. Police learned that the victim was transported to the hospital by a family member after being shot in the area of 100 Langford Street. The victim remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
