FREEHOLD – A Wall woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a weapon after hitting a juvenile with her vehicle, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Vicky L. Smith, 52, of Wall, is charged with first degree Attempted Murder, after hitting a juvenile with her vehicle in the area of Central and First Avenues in Wall Township on Monday night April 30th at approximately 7:38 p.m. Smith was also charged with third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The incident stemmed from an alleged earlier dispute between the juvenile and the Smith family.

The juvenile was taken to Jersey Shore Medical University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
