FREEHOLD – Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved in firing a gun into the air last night. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but that does not diminish the need to locate the individual or individuals responsible for firing bullets into the air near a house party on Saturday night, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Eatontown Police Department responded to the area along Richardson Avenue after receiving reports of gunshots being fired on Saturday night. Authorities located a homeowner in the area who reported seeing two groups of juveniles in the middle of Richardson Avenue. It was reported that one of the juveniles pointed a handgun into the air and fired two shots. Patrols spoke with a group of individuals who had attended a house party in the same area, but they had no information on any possible suspects.
There appears to be no danger to the public and no injuries were reported as a result of the shots that were fired.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Detective Adam Hess of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-800-533-7443 or Detective Casson of the Eatontown Police Department at 732-542-0100.
