Eight people were arrested or charged with the sale of cocaine and heroin at two licensed alcohol establishments in Keansburg, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
The arrests come on the heel of a three-month undercover investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Bayshore Task Force and the Keansburg Police Department that focused on addressing the sale of heroin and cocaine in the borough.
On September 16, 2016, four of the eight defendants charged in connection with the investigation were arrested by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Keansburg Police Department. Four individuals remain at large and are considered fugitives from justices.
The investigation began during the summer in conjunction with other efforts focused on combating the flow of heroin in the Bayshore Area of Monmouth County. During the investigation, it was learned that the defendants were utilizing TJK Stadium, 260 Beachway Avenue, and Apple Jack II Sports Bar & Grill, 60 Carr Avenue, both located in Keansburg, as regular meeting locations to sell narcotics. Defendant Robyn Brown even referred to Apple Jack II as her “Office.” The investigation led to over 200 bags of heroin and over 100 grams of cocaine being seized.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Gramiccioni and Keansburg Police Chief James Pigott credited the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Bayshore Task Force and the Keansburg Police Department Street Crimes Unit for their hard work, dedication, and long hours put into the investigation.
