FREEHOLDA 54-year old man died as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle early Monday morning, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Robert Pisano, 54, of Neptune, was walking in the area of State Highway 36 just east of Middle Road in Hazlet at approximately 2:24 a.m. Monday morning, when he was struck by a westbound 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven by John F. Hermans, of Yonkers, New York.

Hermans was uninjured in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and Hazlet Police Department. The crash scene was assisted by the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
